Academic quality

A BEST event gathers at least 20 students, all of them coming from member universities. Our courses consist of complementary education courses regarding technological issues on the cutting edge given by teachers, professors and professional staff from technological universities and companies. In them, theoretical lectures are combined with practical sessions; we aim at increasing more and more the usage of non-formal education methods, by more frequent sessions in the laboratories, visits to companies and active-participant lectures. Continuous innovation gives us the power to be the missing link between students, universities and companies.

In BEST, we have a commitment to the quality of our courses. Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe, so our events have to fulfil some standards:

• Approximately 20 working hours a week (1 working hour = 60 minute lectures).
• Course materials and documentation provided by professors and university teachers to the students at the end of the course.
• All the students have an examination at the end of the course.
• Certificate of attendance signed by the teacher in case the student has passed the examination to prove the correct participation in the course.
• Course Information Form (brief description of the course signed by the main teacher to help the students get ECTS credits in recognition for attending our courses when they are back at their home universities).
• In order to improve and offer students higher quality and well organised courses we encourage them to fill an evaluation questionnaire of the course they attended. This questionnaire asks for their opinion on every aspect of the course (academical and non-academical).
• Besides, it's very important for us to get the impressions of the teachers. That's why we recently created a new evaluation tool for teachers to gather all this valuable feedback from them.

But our standards go further: although students have to pay only a maximum fee of 45 euros to attend a course which lasts between one and two weeks, accommodation, food, transportation during the event, academic part and socio-cultural activities are all included during the whole event at no extra cost. The social part of our events has also a huge importance. It's also our commitment to promote and spread the European feeling among all the participants of our courses. Thus, the multicultural environment present in our courses lets them dive into other European cultures.
