The city is a complex system and within its complexity lies the ability to reinvent itself. Over the years, it has adapted to the needs of its citizens. That’s how the concept of SMART CITY was born! Smart cities enable progress by incorporating technology into sustainable development, citizen well-being and economic growth.

Not only will you explore this astonishing field, but you will also get the chance to visit Transylvania, the land of vampires. Being scared of light, they organize the wildest parties where you will bond with your pals from all over the Europe.

Current issues concerning urban life and the development of technologies incorporated in every aspect of our lifestyle. Concepts of building socially relevant, sustainable, equitable public spaces and optimizing social services.
Learning goals and objectives:
This course aims to provide basic knowledge about the technologies behind Smart Cities. Students will be able to express a personal judgement on the potential of smart cities in addressing fundamental problems such as enviromental protection, energy availability and urban planning.
Examination type:
Team project with final presentation.

Selection criteria:
Motivation letter, interest in the topic and answers to our questions.

Practical arrangements

All of the following are covered by the event fee:

Lodging:
Students' dormitories next to our University.
Meals:
Three meals per day, at least one of them warm.
Transportation:
Public transportation during the stay in Bucharest and a private bus for the weekend trip. These will be provided at no extra costs.
