University is not enough? Cross the bridge to real world!

General description

Do you feel that as your studies are closer to the end and you are approaching the tip of the launch pad and that you need more momentum from school for the perfect flight? Do you want a smoother transitional period between university and full time job and reach easier you dream job? Do you want your university to have a better teaching system and more competitive graduates in an ever-changing job market? Do you want to get responsibilities in company earlier and shorten the training periods? Do you have ideas on how all these problems can be solved and how things can get better, for you and for other thousand European students just like you?

All those students every year raise these questions and do not know what to expect from their first employment.

At BEST, Academics and Companies (BACo) event we will discuss how to prepare students for the transitional period.

Companies will be asked how they integrate students and young graduates in their working environment. We will ask them if they are satisfied with the soft-skills, theoretical and practical knowledge students receive at the university and how they compensate the lack of certain knowledge.

Special focus will be given to minority groups like women engineers and immigrants.

Selection criteria:
Motivation letter only. No previous experience needed.

Practical arrangements

All of the following are covered by the event fee:

Breakfast and 2 warm meals in student canteens per day.
Public transport.
