Active Learning in Engineering Education

General description

Active Learning in Engineering Education is a broad topic, and can cover a wide range of fields, we'll focus on the need to engage students and making teaching as well as learning more interesting.

A lot of focus is usually given to teaching, but the learning part of it is normally forgotten. In this symposium we will address active learning as the most effective way for acquiring knowledge. We'll also try to make the event as active as possible, making use of some of the Active Learning tools available at the moment.

Besides this we are preparing an amazing social programme to make sure that you will have the BEST time of your life! You´ll discover Porto´s treasures like: the Douro River and it's incredible bridges, the Porto Wine, the sunshine at the beaches by the Atlantic Ocean, our crazy parties, and so much more!! We are sure that you will just love the experience!!

Information for applicants

Selection criteria:

The selection will be based on the motivation letters and we will try to keep the 50%-50% gender distribution as a good nationality diversity.

Practical arrangements

All of the following are covered by the event fee:

Lodging:

Hostel.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the university's canteen.

Transportation:

Public transportation (bus, subway, tram)
