FEANI ABM (European Federation of National Engineering Annual Business Meeting)
Description:
BEST was invited to the
Annual Business Meeting of FEANI that took place in Valencia from the 4th
to the 5th of October, as part of the Memorandum of collaboration signed between
BEST and FEANI during the General Assembly of BEST in France.
There, the Educational
Committee of BEST had to learn all about FEANI projects, and second, to find
ways to collaborate with FEANI in the next future. FEANI are mainly working on
the ENGCARD project that was presented
during the Presidents' Meeting of BEST in Valladolid.
European Union is waiting for the feasibility report of the project in February 2008.

TREE MCM (Teaching and Research in Engineering Education Management Committee Meeting)
Description:
The 14th-15th of September,
the 9th TREE Management Committee Meeting was held. It was supposed to be the
last one since TREE was a 3 years project (2004-2007), but the meeting started with great
news: European Commission had approved a dissemination year for TREE!
This means that during next
year, TREE, and therefore BEST, will be present in several dissemination events,
such as conferences, and we will have more opportunities to network with new
partners and enhance BEST visibility towards external organisations.
In the next TREE meeting,
the continuation of TREE into a new Thematic Network (TREE TWO) will be discussed.

SEFI/IGIP Annual Conference 2007
Description:
BEST took part in the SEFI and IGIP
Annual Conference 2007, held in Miscolc, Hungary from 1st to 4th of July.
The Educational Committee
of BEST attended the IFEES meeting as well as the SEFI General Assembly.
We also had the chance to discuss about the BEST and SEFI relationship and to
share our points of view with the representatives of IGIP and ASEE. As an active part from
the TREE network, BEST discussed about offering its IT infrastructure to host
TREE's website. A wide range of topics, from virtual mobility to the role of
students' unions, were discussed along the 4 days, meaning interesting outcomes
for our organisation.

Educational Committee Summer Meeting 2007
Description:
This summer, 25 members of
BEST involved with educational issues, gathered in Iasi to work and examine plenty of internal
and external projects. During the Summer Meeting, the new members were trained
and all together worked for the improvement of the Educational Committees
image towards BEST and to establish fine cooperation with new Thematic Networks
and keep the good work with the current ones. This year the Educational
Committee will work inside and outside BEST, striving for high quality events
and reaching its goals.

Educational Times - 2nd issue
Description:
Here comes the second issue of the Educational Times, a magazine about
educational issues, for students, by students. The publication is brought to you by the Educational Committee of BEST, and the current issue
features interesting articles on Thematic Networks, student mobility and a final section on how to get involved in those topics. Check it out!.
1st EIE-Surveyor General Meeting - BEST was there!
Description:
The 25th February 2006, in Santander (Spain) took place the First General Meeting for the recent Thematic Network EIE-Surveyor. BEST is a member of this TN since November 2005, so two BEST
representatives attended the event too. During the meeting the future work and dead lines for each task and working team were defined. BEST
this year will contribute organising an educational event in Lviv in September, about the Implementation of the Bologna Process.

1st Dean's Meeting - BEST was there!
Description:
From 17th to 19th November 2005, the Deans, Rectors and Presidents of Engineering Schools gathered in Florence (Italy) for the First European Convention on "Present and future challenges for
engineering education and research in Europe". The conference was held under the auspices of, amongst others, BEST, whose representatives
attended the event and contributed to the session "The Doctorate ? Peak of Engineering Qualification". The contribution consisted in
a presentation of the outcomes of a survey recently carried out among BEST members, on the attractiveness of PhD studies by undergraduate
and graduate students of engineering and other scientific or technological fields.
