General description

Wireless Communication channels differ significantly from their wireline counterparts. The most significant characteristics of wireless channels are multipath fading and interference. Both fading and interference significantly degrade wireless systems' performance, unless we take the appropriate countermeasures. The theory will be complemented with experimentation on the Software Defined Radio (SDR) testbed USRP (see www.ettus.com). Simple point-to-point systems will be implemented using C++ and Python. Using your a-priori knowledge, the first days' theoritical lectures and your communication skills you can do your BEST and help your team win this competition!!! Are you ready to take that challenge?

Along with exploring the world of wireless communications you will also have the opportunity to experience the greek way of entertaining and how we spend our time with "HALARA" coffees and great all-night parties! Crete never sleeps in summer, since it is one of the most touristic islands of Greece. Here you can find a place to taste hot "rakomelo" or cold "frappe" all the time, taste our special Mediterranean recipies, party with "ouzo", "tsipouro" and "retsina", visit archeological sites, museums and enjoy the wonderful beaches.

We are waiting for you to share our crazy spirit!!!

Prerequisities: solid knowledge of digital communication systems, probabilities and stochastic processes and programming skills in C++/Python.
