General description

Ever dreamed about a game that will fit you?

Ever had crazy thoughts about how a game should look?

Why play good games? Better create one, and if it will not be perfect, at least it will be yours ; )

We?ll be making a browser game using JavaScript and some open frameworks.

We?ll start with a plot and sketches. Then we?ll work on mechanics, rules and game focus points. Next we?ll implement story line and levels (where applicable). And in the end we?ll have balancing, polishing and fun testing.

Usually making games is not an easy and single-man task. We?ll use simplified development teams formed by 3 to 5 designers and developers. So:

- if you are Designer (or a guy with good imagination, or always striving to learn something new, or knowing a bit of Photoshop) then it is a perfect occasion to dive into a world of motion, transitions, pixel art and imagination.

- if you are Developer (or a guy who knows how to write code, or having fun from time to time with programming or scripting languages, or you love Bender) then it is a perfect occasion to have even more fun with programming, to enjoy tangible results, to deploy projects that work everywhere and maybe to try something new.

• Learning goals and objectives: The objective of this course is to familiarise the audience with the basics of browser technologies and game creation process. The students are expected to achieve better understanding about game (and other related products) production processes. Expected result of this course is the ability to prototype and manage game production process. Also this course can give good understanding of event-driven flows and programming.
