Airbus Group – known as EADS until January 1, 2014 – is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services. The Group comprises Airbus as a leading global manufacturer of highly innovative commercial aircraft, Airbus Defence and Space as defence and space leader in Europe, providing tanker, combat, transport and mission aircraft as well as space systems, equipment and services, and Airbus Helicopters which offers the widest range of civil and military helicopters in the world. Airbus Group is a major partner in the Eurofighter consortium and a stakeholder in the missile systems provider MBDA and a 50% partner in turboprop aircraft maker, ATR. In 2013, the Group generated revenues of € 59.3 billion and employed a workforce of around 144,000.

  • Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer offering a complete range of aircraft families, from 100 to well over 500 passenger seats, as well as the most modern, comprehensive and fuel-efficient product line on the market.

  • Airbus Helicopters, formerly Eurocopter, is a division of Airbus Group, a global pioneer in aerospace and defense related services. Employing approximately 22,000 people worldwide, Airbus Helicopters is the world’s No. 1 helicopter manufacturer with a turnover of 6.3 billion euros. The company’s fleet in service includes some 12,000 helicopters operated by more than 3,000 customers in approximately 150 countries.

  • Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. The new division is Europe’s number one defence and space enterprise, the second largest space business worldwide and among the top ten global defence enterprises. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately €14 billion per year.


As of today, the Group has more than 144,000 employees and dispose of a wide cultural diversity, with more than 130 nationalities represented and more than 20 languages spoken within the workforce. The Group has more than 50,000 employees in Germany, more than 50,000 employees in France, more than 11,000 in Spain and more than 14,000 in the UK.
