Do you want to go high? Do you want to increase your innovation potential? BEST Engineering Competition, the 1st ever in Finland, will lift you to higher potential!

How? During 12 wonderful days, you will have the opportunity to learn and to improve your engineering skills with minimal time spent sitting in class room! The event will be organised in close collaboration with KONE, the 4th largest elevator company in the world. If you want to learn more about the challenges KONE is going to propose for the competition, you just need to come. Who knows… perhaps this could also be a step forward to your future career!

If you want to become a modern engineer, it’s time to put your learnt skills into practice. Helsinki University of Technology and KONE are preparing a challenge for You to solve... will you be in the BEST team? Discover the idea generation within cross-functional teams working on identified areas! Test your innovation and management skills in Case Study and use your creativity in Team Design hands-on task. Work in international teams, adaptation and imagination are key factors to develop you as an engineer! Are you the best engineering student in the whole Europe?

Moreover, you will discover the Finnish way of life! A lakeside cottage, long summer days, Helsinki city, sauna crawling, Finnish Sitsit party, warm Finnish people and Minttu!! Don’t miss it! (after the course you will!)

Academic information

Content and topics:

The event will have two team work categories: Case Study (one-day theoretical study) and Team Design (three-day engineering task).

Learning goals and objectives:

To learn team work in international group and to develope in problem solving.

Examination type:

Competition in teams. Evaluation of the results will be done at the end of the event by professionals. Great prizes for the winners =)

Lodging:

In two student union's guest rooms. Kind of hostel style. Really close to everything.

Meals:

Student canteen and cooked by organisers.

Transportation:

Public transportation and rented bus for longer distances.
