Water along with soil and air are the three most valuable sources, which provide basic elements and goods to sustain and improve the life and the environment in the earth. Global water resources are not adequate (only 0-6% of the global water is usable), and unequally distributed in time and space. Thus the management of the resources is a basic prerequisite for any technological and socioeconomic growth. Water has two faces: first of all is a valuable source for life and on the other hand is the cause for disasters droughts and floods which are extreme situations with very serious impacts on lives and properties. During our course, not only will you learn the ways to face floods and droughts but also you will have the chance to discover the great amounts of energy that water can give you, if you lay under the sun on a sandy beach of a greek island…
