Educational involvement

As Student Organisation, educational issues are important for us. We work in order to offer students the highest amount of possibilities to express their opinion and talk about their education. This is done because we would like to collaborate with the rest of the stakeholders of the higher education.

On one hand, there are some Thematic Networks (TNs) with which we have fruitful collaborations at the moment like TREE, SPUTNIC, VM-BASE, EIE-Surveyor. BEST also collaborated with other projects in the past.

On the other hand, we are in touch with other organisations like SEFI, IGIP, FEANI, IFEES and in addition to all these our members attend conferences related to educational issues, in order to be updated to new methods and their evolution.

Talking about the activities which BEST organises, there are Events on Education where discussions are prepared among the different stakeholders of the high education : students, local and international professors, experts, TN and companies representatives, with the aim to gather their input about educational issues.

Regarding the participation of the professors in the preparations of these events it could be pretty active in matters of the choice and the elaboration of the topic introductions that will be sent to the participants of the event to make themselves prepared for the upcoming discussions.

As professor, during the event it is possible:

• To network with the host university of the event, with international academics, with TN representatives and with BEST, in order to learn about their methods and projects and maybe find a way to collaborate in the future.
• To have active sharing sessions with students from all over Europe, and even to find someone for a PhD or to collaborate with in a research programme.
• To receive students feedback about your work.

After each Event on Education, BEST prepares a report with the outcomes and sends it to the European Commission, our partners and the professors that have participated. Furthermore the academics will receive the task tracker for our educational involvement so future collaborations could be opened.
