ELSA
The European Law Students' Association (ELSA) is the world's largest independent, non-profit, non-political association run by and for
law students and young lawyers. ELSA comprises a membership close to 33,000 students and recent graduates who are interested in law and
have demonstrated commitment to international issues. ELSA operates primarily through its local groups, which are located at close to 300
universities throughout 42 countries in Europe.
The ELSA Vision is: "A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity". ELSA aims at contributing to
legal education, fostering mutual understanding and promoting social responsibility among law students and young lawyers. ELSA provides
opportunities for law students and young lawyers to learn about other cultures and legal systems in a spirit of critical dialogue
through various projects and events such as seminars, conferences, moot court competitions, essay competitions, study visits, legal
research groups, delegations to international organisations and an international traineeship programme.
